Commercial Manager

Job Summary
The Commercial Manager is responsible for leading and managing the commercial strategy of the freight forwarding company. This includes overseeing pricing, sales growth, customer acquisition, and strategic partnerships. The role focuses on maximizing profitability while ensuring competitive service offerings across sea, air, and land freight.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the company’s commercial strategy to drive revenue and market share.
Lead the sales, pricing, and customer service teams, ensuring coordination across departments.
Set and review freight rates, ensuring competitiveness while maintaining target margins.
Build and maintain relationships with key clients, carriers, and agents.
Negotiate and manage service contracts with shipping lines, airlines, and land transport providers.
Monitor market trends and competitor strategies to identify business opportunities and threats.
Support new product development and service enhancements based on customer needs.
Prepare commercial forecasts and performance reports for senior management.
Represent the company in global freight networks, trade shows, and strategic negotiations.
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, Incoterms, and customs standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
7+ years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics, with at least 3 years in a commercial or managerial role.
Deep understanding of freight operations, carrier negotiations, and international trade regulations.
Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
Familiarity with freight forwarding software (e.g., CargoWise, SAP, or similar platforms).
